Downward pressure needed on rates

“If elected to council, I would strongly advocate for the aggressive pursuit of all available funding from state and federal governments for infrastructure work to assist in reducing the burden on our rate payers,” Independent candidate for Mount Isa City Council Dan Ballard said.

“I hope that by growing potential revenue stream and offsetting some of the costs shouldered by the community could help place downward pressure on our rates charges.”

“Tablelands Regional Council, Isaac Regional Council and Mareeba Shire all have similar populations to Mount Isa City Council, but their residents pay much less in rates,” Mr Ballard said.

Dan Ballard wants to advocate for all available state and federal government funding.
